Ten
Tips for Pet Photos
Capturing
your pet's personality can be difficult. They move around and your photo is blurred
or you miss them completely. They're doing something cute, and by the time you
have the camera set up, they are doing something else. Here are some tips to help
you snap the moment.
- Avoid
taking your photos in the sun. Find shade or wait for a bright cloudy day.
- Use
treats and toys to catch their attention and make them pose.
- Can
someone hold your pet in position while you take photos?
- Use
a fast shutter speed if they are running or moving.
- Groom
your pet before you take your pet's photo.
- Watch
your background. Busy backgrounds can be distracting. If possible, blur your background
or use a contrasting blanket or sheet behind your pet (unless you are planning
to order a Pop Art Petrait.
Then you can select a background for your photo.)
- Shoot
your photos at eye level with your pet.
- When
your pet is relaxed in a favorite spot move up on them slowly.
- Snap
your pet photos near a window and use flash for a second light source.
- Take
lots of photos and study your pet. Keep the camera handy. It might take awhile
before you capture your pet's personality.
Or hire a professional
photographer to take your photos or take a class in
photography.
